If you are a network marketer or an affiliate marketer, one of the most important tasks you can perform is building a large, targeted, high-converting list. I have built and maintained an email list almost since the beginning of the Internet. Clearly, it is my most valuable marketing tool!
Proper list building strategies result in more business!
If you do not take the time to build and maintain a good list, you are stuck with trying to sell your product or service from a single contact. There are a couple reasons this is not as effective. Stats show that on average, it takes multiple contacts (around 7) to make a sale. Moreover, if you are doing that, you end up trying to sell to complete strangers. And that can be tough.
My recommended list building strategies focus on building a list of interested prospects and then building a relationship with them. Relationships are everything!
I have found that the key to success is to get people to know, like, and trust you. Once I learned how to do this correctly, I started having prospect contact me, instead of me pitching them. When you do this the proper way, you can have folks contacting you, ready to join your team, ready to buy your product.
Building a quality list is actually simple. It is something you must learn to do. You will need just a few things.
3 things you need
The first thing you need is a landing page or opt-in form. This is where prospects leave their contact information and are added to your list. Don’t rely on your company replicated form. It is far more effective to create your own. I found a simple and super-affordable page builder that anyone can use to create high converting optin forms in short order. I highly recommend it.
Next, you will need an autoresponder. The autoresponder is the program that manages your list and sends emails to it. You can get the very autoresponder I use for free. This is how you follow up with prospects on your list and build a relationship. Set it up and let it run. It does the heavy lifting, all on auto pilot.
Then lastly, you need to drive a high volume of quality traffic to your landing page. I focus on 2 main methods to so.
One is this blog. Blogging can be a great tool for many online affiliate marketers and network marketers. However, if you are starting a blog from scratch, it will take a long time to see regular results. You must have another traffic strategy in place in the meantime.
The other strategy is YouTube marketing. I highly recommend almost all marketers try it. It’s actually simple, the results can be fast, and it is free to use. I feel YouTube is the fastest way to get people to know, like, and trust you.
3 techniques to avoid…
Let me share 3 techniques I strongly encourage you to avoid.
Do not use purchased leads to build your list. The quality is usually poor, at best, no matter what the price. You want to generate the leads yourself. The lead quality will usually be far better. Plus, you can generate good leads for free.
Do not buy solo ads. I’ve purchased a lot of them over the years. And I always tell myself I will never do it again. They are just too unpredictable. Again, I generate good leads for free.
Do not waste time with those goofy traffic exchanges. They are typically hobby type people rather than serious business-builders. Why waste time like that.
