A side hustle is a job or activity you perform to generate extra income. More and more people are looking to side hustles today. It started with Covid. Now with inflation and prices on almost everything rising dramatically, many people feel the need to generate more money. Even people with careers that they once thought were secure are feeling the need for more cash flow.
Common examples of hustles people think of include ride sharing, delivering food or groceries, dog walking, child care, lawn care, and snow removal. Really what you are doing is trading your time for money. The big challenge is having enough time to generate the kind of money you are wanting.
In other hustles, you trade a particular skill or talent for extra money. I frequently see people offering lessons or tutoring, blogging, or doing freelance work such as on Fiverr. Here the challenge is first having a marketable skill and then knowing how to market it.
I think the best side hustle is affiliate marketing
It is frequently overlooked, but affiliate marketing is my favorite hustle. This is where you sell someone else’s product or service and earn a commission. It’s neat and clean. What I like best is you can do it from almost anywhere. I do a lot of it while I’m out sailing!
But even better, because it’s mostly automated, affiliate marketing takes a very minimal time commitment.
