Evergreen Online Marketing Content – The 3 Critical Elements

Evergreen online marketing content is a key part of efficient use of advertising time and budget. Discover the major benefits and critical elements of evergreen content.

Evergreen online marketing content

Evergreen content is search engine optimized content that continually stays relevant. It does not become old or go out of style. Because of that, content I created years ago still produces results today!

Evergreen online marketing content provides 2 major benefits

The first benefit is that it can save you a lot of time and effort. Without it in place, you will need to constantly review your existing content looking for anything outdated. Then you will have to update or replace that content. Who has time for that?

The second benefit is that being evergreen actually helps your SEO (search engine optimization). It helps your pages rank higher. Outdated content will not rank well. Being evergreen attracts organic (search engine) traffic for the long haul. The ultimate benefit here is driving more traffic to your site.

There are 3 critical evergreen elements to check

The first element to check is the title of your email, post, or video. For example, if the subtitle of this post was What Works In 2021 instead of The 3 Critical Elements it would definitely be stale in 2022.

The next element to watch is the content itself. Make sure it is about a topic that will remain relevant. For example, a post on how to market during the pandemic will have little interest later. Also be sure to use good keywords and avoid specific dates.

The third critical element is the one I see people miss most frequently. How many times have you clicked on a link and ended up at an inactive site?

After you have marketed online for a while, you will have a large number of links in existing autoresponder emails and blog posts. I have 2 simple solutions for this challenge. I use redirects for all web addresses in emails and posts. A redirect forwards one URL to another.

I own several domain names for this purpose. For example, when promoting a List Building Cash Generating system, instead of using the direct web address, I redirect www.AttainMyGoals.com to it.

If I stop promoting that system for any reason, all I have to do is change the redirect. It automatically fixes the problem in every place I have used it and only takes a couple minutes to do. Another way you can do this is using the PrettyLinks plugin on your blog.

I hope this helps you drive more traffic to your site by doing a better job of preparing evergreen online marketing content.

To your success,

Joe Barclay
